Women of great taste and talent who promote the excellence of design, contributing to the image of the city as a place where you can find the best of Italian knowledge and refinement.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monica and Flavia, M\u00e9moire<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>M\u00e9moire, the first French &#8216;brocante&#8217; in Verona, is a place <strong><em>where old things are given a new life<\/em><\/strong>, now ready to fit in the most chic interiors. Monica and Flavia have opened this showroom to create <strong>a <em>space dedicated to the idea of upcycling<\/em><\/strong>. They buy vintage furniture and decoration from vintage fairs and flea markets, then restore and transform them: a rustic sagra table becomes the focal point of an elegant dining room, 1950\u2019s armchairs are stylishly reupholstered, and handmade Sicilian tiles are assembled to create a centerpiece.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;We\u2019ve always worshipped <strong><em>the culture of reuse <\/em><\/strong>as the most ethical approach to reducing waste, rethinking objects that we already have at our disposal. The idea of creative upcycling for interiors was born from our mutual passion for the beauty of vintage things\u2019, \u2014 the two friends explain. After graduating in economics and law, they realized that their true vocation was creating interiors. Today, in addition to M\u00e9moire, they specialize in interior design consultancy for private houses and businesses.<\/p>\n<p>They love Verona, the city where they both live and work. <strong><em>&#8216;Verona\u00a0 is\u00a0 human-size,\u00a0 it\u2019s\u00a0 a\u00a0 city\u00a0 where people-\u00adoriented relationships are still very important. <\/em><\/strong>The clients often become our friends, which is really essential for us\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(Quote about creativity)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8216;If you want to have a truly creative life, you should never be satisfied with your usual way of \u00a0doing \u00a0things, \u00a0even \u00a0if \u00a0it\u2019s \u00a0well-\u00adreceived \u00a0and \u00a0highly-paid. \u00a0The \u00a0search \u00a0for \u00a0something different should always continue. Antiques are her second passion. She finds rare and precious items (paintings, statuettes, vintage screens) at flea markets and in private collections, which she exhibits and sells in her amazing Cabinet of Curiosities.<\/p>\n<p>Her professional path started by attending the ceramic workshop of Maria Bettinelli while studying at art school. At only 23 years old, in 1980, Busacchi opened her own studio. <strong><em>\u2018Discovering the craftswoman part of me was the stronger emotion I\u2019ve ever had&#8217;<\/em><\/strong>, \u2014 Daniela declares.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;My work allows me to face a challenge every day. <strong><em>When I look at a piece I have just finished restoring, I feel proud of myself. <\/em><\/strong>And when I manage to find an outstanding vintage object and bring it to the store, I am a happy girl\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Daniela works a lot with the people of Verona, and many true friendships were born from their exchanges. <strong><em>&#8216;My clients have enriched my personality: <\/em><\/strong>every time I deliver a restored object in a house of a painter or nobleman, I listen to their stories about art, thus developing my knowledge and taste&#8217;. Busacchi believes that craftsmanship is fundamental for every city, that it is its added value. \u2018<strong><em>Artisans contribute to the continuation of history and culture<\/em><\/strong>. Most of the furniture is recycled. Washing machine baskets and building nets are turned into chandeliers, one of the counters used to belong to an antique pharmacy, and the old closet for fabrics is a gift from a friend.<\/p>\n<p>&#8216;The fabrics &#8230; it&#8217;s nice to touch them, see them move, smell them. The colors, how could you really see \u00a0them \u00a0on \u00a0a \u00a0computer \u00a0screen? \u00a0Only \u00a0a brick-and\u00admortar \u00a0store \u00a0can \u00a0tell \u00a0you \u00a0about \u00a0the \u00a0fabrics, \u00a0and then, <strong><em>there is also a social and aesthetic value in a store like mine<\/em><\/strong>. A shop can be an attraction, just like a monument, a place where you come to experience emotion\u2019, \u2014 says Fioraso, who specializes in traditional brands of high quality, both Italian and international.<\/p>\n<p>The owner keeps such inexpensive prices that her customers don&#8217;t even think of looking for an alternative online. \u2018<strong><em>I do believe in affordable beauty <\/em><\/strong>born from respect for the environment and working process. I can tell the quality immediately, so even if a textile doesn\u2019t have a famous label, it\u2019s not difficult for me to propose it, as <strong><em>my customers trust my choices<\/em><\/strong>\u2019. Cristina organizes events and exhibitions from time to time \u2014 she\u2019s an established photographer and published author.<\/p>\n<p><strong>(Quote about creativity)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8216;Creativity is something you experience daily. I use it every day, helping my customers make a purchase or decorating a window.
